The open-collar shirt has followed a different path from button-down shirts made with tie-wearing in mind.
While its exact origins are often debated, the style became established through early 20th-century leisurewear and sports shirts—designed to let air pass through and to feel open and unrestrictive.

At BONCOURA, we honor that sense of ease while refining the silhouette into a more polished form.

The fabric is cotton-linen: the softness of cotton combined with the light, crisp character unique to linen. It is offered in three colors.

Natural is made with undyed, unbleached cotton and linen. The subtle unevenness and natural variations of the fibers become part of the expression, giving the fabric a quiet depth that cannot be made uniform.

Light Indigo and Black are woven using rope-dyed yarns. Both are dyed to keep the core lighter, so like denim, the surface gradually fades with wear and washing, gaining character over time.
With each wear, it becomes more your own—shaping itself to the way you live in it.
