Denim Overalls

Overalls were widely worn across working environments in the United States from the late 19th century through the early 20th century—by railroad workers, miners, and in agriculture.
They were born as garments that combined everything required on the job: freedom of movement, durability, and storage.

The shoulder-strap buckles and adjusters are a rational workwear detail, allowing the fit to be adjusted depending on the season, layering, and differences in body shape.
Denim, used from the very beginning, is a material made for repetition—wash, dry, wear again. With continued use, it softens, and its character gradually deepens.

As the decades passed, overalls retained their strong workwear roots while also taking on a more fashion-oriented presence, evolving into a more refined form.

At BONCOURA, we respect that history while layering timeless details with modern techniques and BONCOURA’s own fabric development—refining the overall into what we consider the ideal form.

The fabric is 8.5oz denim.
Neither too heavy nor too light, it’s a weight that feels easy to reach for in everyday life.

The front features the classic mountain-shaped pocket—often called the “mountain pocket.” It also includes a pocket for a pocket watch, along with workwear details such as a hammer loop.
BONCOURA’s own pis name tag, light blue bar tacks, and stitchwork that mixes in workwear-style triple stitching—these details shape the overall impression of the garment.

With more surface area than a standard pair of jeans, overalls develop character across the knees, thighs, bib, pockets, hems, and around the straps.
Compared to denim pants, they reflect the wearer’s lifestyle even more directly, aging in a way that becomes uniquely personal.
